Ombudswoman: Segregation of children in education continues

Segregation in the education system continues because the Education Act is not specific in banning discrimination and segregation, fails to identify these terms or stipulate any penalties, Public Ombudswoman Maria Patakyova stated in her post on a social networking page on Friday. Patakyova spoke in response to the so-called "reasoned opinion", in which the European Commission urges Slovakia to apply equal treatment to Roma children.
