June 17th, 2019
There are nearly 5,900 electric cars registered in Poland, with their number growing by 100 percent year on year in the first five months of 2019, according to the newly-launched Electric Mobility Counter. The counter was established by the Polish Alternative Fuels Association (PSPA) and the Polish Automotive Industry Association (PZPM). In January-May 2018, the number of registered electric vehicles totalled 815, while after the first five months of 2019 it amounted to 1,633. Of the 5,889 cars, 3,723 were fully electric (Battery Electric Vehicles, or BEVs), while the remaining vehicles were hybrid (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles, or PHEVs).
