Number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Poland reaches 22,964

The number of confirmed coronavirus infections in Poland increased by 141 since Thursday evening and reached 22,964 the Ministry of Health said on Friday morning. Another five people have died, bringing the death toll to 1,043. Out of the total number of new infection cases, 230 were identified in the Silesia mining region in southern Poland. Earlier in the day, the ministry reported that, in all, 2,035 people suspected of coronavirus infection have been hospitalised, 79,995 are under quarantine, 18,224 are under sanitary-epidemiological supervision. So far, 10,692 people have recovered.
