Number of Alzheimer patients growing in last five years - VZP

The number of patients with Alzheimer's disease was steadily growing from 32,000 in 2014 to 44,000 in 2018, the VZP public health insurance company, which has about 5.9 milion clients in the country with 10.6 million inhabitants, said in a press release today. There are some 150,000 people suffering from Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. It is estimated that their number will be more than double by 2036.
