Number of African swine fever cases in wild boar exceed 200 in Slovakia

The number of wild boar recorded as infected with the African swine fever virus (ASFV) in Slovakia has now risen to 201, although the infections remain limited to the districts of Trebisov, Kosice-okolie and Michalovce (all Kosice region), the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry said on Tuesday. "Based on the results of laboratory analyses, we haven't yet recorded a spread to other districts or parts of Slovakia," State Veterinary and Food Administration (SPVS) executive director Jozef Bires told TASR.
