No data available on number of Slovaks with coronavirus abroad, says ministry

March 23rd, 2020

The Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry does not have any data on the number of Slovaks infected with coronavirus abroad, the ministry's spokesman Juraj Tomaga told TASR on Monday. "Statistics merely reveal the number of those infected, without specifying their nationality," said Tomaga. Austrian media reported in early March that a family of four Slovaks (including two children) had been quarantined at their weekend cottage in the Austrian village of Kittsee, which is located within walking distance of Bratislava. Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry also knows of one Slovak with Covid-19 in the United Arab Emirates.
