New supreme attorney Striz promises independent decision-making

New Czech Supreme State Attorney Igor Striz, whom the government appointed on Monday, told a press conference that he wants to always act in the public interest, irrespective of impacts on the political and business spheres. State attorneys will be independent and they will never receive from him any instructions, wishes or subliminal messages on what decisions they should make, Striz said. He said he does not plan to occupy the post as long as his predecessor Pavel Zeman who was supreme state attorney for ten years.
