New online daily The Standard launched

A new online daily called 'The Standard' was launched on November 1, its editor-in-chief Jaroslav Daniska has told TASR. "The Standard's aim is to serve as a balance to the strong position of liberal dailies and websites," he said. The deputy editors-in-chief are Jozef Hajko and Peter Stevkov. "The full-time writers for the new outlet will include Vladimir Palko, Martin Leidenfrost and investigative reporter Veronika Smiralova, with renowned photographer Matus Zajac also signed up. The editorial desk is composed of twenty journalists, while thirty other reporters will work externally," Daniska added.
