June 16th, 2022
New subvariants of the BA.4, BA.5 and BA.2.12.1 Omicron coronavirus will apparently dominate gradually in the Czech Republic, the National Health Institute (SZU) says in its weekly report on new mutations today. Experts, such as those from the German Koch Institute, are only mapping the course of the disease caused by this variant. However, a previous infection and vaccination will probably protect less against it. This week, over 400 Czechs tested positive daily on workdays. In early June, it was about one-half.
