NDS to open new D1 stretch in Presov on Thursday

The National Highway Company (NDS) will hold an opening ceremony for the Presov West-Presov South D-motorway section, which includes a new tunnel, on Thursday, October 28, company spokesperson Eva Zgravcakova told TASR on Tuesday. The 7.87-kilometre stretch, with a price tag of 356 million VAT-free, was co-financed by the EU. Designed to serve as a 'western' bypass around the city in order to shepherd transit traffic away from residential areas, the D1 section will shorten the route for cars by almost 19 minutes.
