June 30th, 2022
Inflation is expected to peak in autumn 2022, then gradually subside until it reaches the central bank's tolerance band at the end of 2023, and the NBH target of 3 percent by 2024 H1, the director of the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) told a press conference on Thursday, presenting the quarterly Inflation Report. Gergely Baksay noted that the NBH has raised its inflation forecast to 11.0-12.6 percent for 2022, from 7.5-9.8 percent in the March report.
