Slovak Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad confirmed for TASR during a meeting of NATO defence ministers in Brussels on Wednesday and Thursday that Slovakia's defence budget has come closer to the promised 2 percent of GDP. "Today, were at a level of 1.8 percent, meaning that there's also been progress in terms of modernisation. We meet NATO standards in terms of investment in defence modernisation, and we would be very pleased to meet even our 2-percent commitment," said Nad.
