The state coat of arms will have a special position when state symbols are used abroad after Parliament on Friday approved an amendment to the State Symbols Act, thereby overruling President Andrej Kiska's veto. Eighty-six MPs voted for the amendment after it was returned to the House. MPs weren't able to make any changes to the law; they only could pass or reject it. This means that the amendment after reapproval contains a controversial section concerning the playing and singing of the anthems of other countries in Slovakia.
