The extra-parliamentary ethnic Hungarian Most-Hid party said on Wednesday following the government's approval of a new amendment to the State Citizenship Act that it intends to ask parliament not to greenlight the legislation, claiming that if MPs approve it in the end, it will aim to convince President Zuzana Caputova to challenge the amendment at the Constitutional Court. A similar approach to the amendment was adopted by the extra-parliamentary Progressive Slovakia (PS) party, which criticised the fact that the Interior Ministry as the sponsor of the legislation did not implement any of the comments from the public it had received regarding the bill.
