More than 50,000 people attended the main mass of Pope Francis' four-day visit to Slovakia in Sastin (Trnava region) on Wednesday, the public holiday marking the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, the patron saint of Slovakia, the Slovak Episcopal Conference said. The pontiff toured individual sectors of pilgrims in the popemobile prior to the mass. Earlier he made a similar tour of the streets of Sastin, a town of 5,000 inhabitants located in the far west of the country. Also before the mass, the pope attended a joint prayer event with Slovak bishops at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows.
