Ministry proposes allocating 15 m for European Capital of Culture - Trencin

The state should contribute 15 million euros towards a project called 'European Capital of Culture (EHMK) 2026 in Trencin', according to a draft concerning financial coverage of the EHMK-Trencin 2026 project submitted by the Culture Ministry for interdepartmental review. The allocation should be paid out gradually, with 800,000 covering the cost of preparing and organising the event in 2023. An international jury decided on awarding the EHMK 2026 title in December 2021. Trencin was shortlisted for the final round along with Nitra and Zilina.
