Ministry plans to harmonise Czech travel traffic lights with EU's

November 3rd, 2020

The Czech Foreign Ministry has proposed that the Czech Republic adopt the European Union's criteria for assessing the coronavirus infection risk in individual countries as of November 9 so that the travel traffic lights system is unified across the EU. According to the risk size, the system assesses countries with a scale of colours from green to red. Based on the planned rules, citizens from "green" states would not face movement restrictions anywhere in the EU. "Czechia will change its travel traffic lights in accordance with the EU's recommendation," the ministry wrote. "This is the first step towards a single set of criteria for assessing countries' safety in terms of the spread of Covid-19."
