Ministry: Language support scheme for foreign children to change

Children with mother tongues other than Czech should learn it gradually in special lessons at kindergartens and selected elementary schools, Svatopluk Pohorely from the Education Ministry has said, presenting drafted changes to language support for foreign children. The schools concerned would be chosen by regional authorities. Experts say that the current support system for foreigners at school is not sufficient and the proposed changes are not likely to bring about any significant improvement.
