Miners prepare for strike, Warsaw protest

Activists from the Siepien'80 trade union have encouraged miners to take part in a warning strike planned for February 17 and a street protest in Warsaw on February 28. Over the past week, unionists were in talks with government representatives and PGG management over a 12-percent wage hike proposal and halting the "silent closing down of mines," union representatives said.
