Mikulec: Wednesday's protests 'nothing but attempt to misuse public's frustration'

September 2nd, 2021

The protests that took place on Wednesday in Bratislava and Kosice revealed who was behind them and that these demonstrations were "nothing but an attempt to grossly misuse people's frustrations for the opposition's political goals", Interior Minister Roman Mikulec said on Thursday. The police monitored the protests and took action when it was necessary against people who were damaging property, blocking roads and assaulting deployed police officers, the minister said. On the occasion of Constitution Day on Wednesday, several protest rallies were held in Bratislava and Kosice against the government, MPs, the president, as well as against Covid-19 vaccination and pandemic response measures.
