Mikulec sees 'unsubstantiated allegations' behind opposition's no-confidence motion

July 26th, 2021

Interior Minister Roman Mikulec said on Facebook on Monday that he respects the right of opposition MPs to initiate a no-confidence motion in him, but could not accept efforts lasting several months to cast doubt on the law-enforcement authorities and on him. According to Mikulec, "unsubstantiated allegations of corruption", which were investigated in the past, with the police closing these cases, were once again among the reasons for which Smer-SD wants him ousted. On this note, the minister said that even though the opposition claimed it wanted to oust him, opposition MPs did not attend the session on Monday that they themselves had initiated to this effect.
