Slovak Prime Minister Igor Matovic received the first of two Sputnik vaccines on Tuesday. Matovic said in a Facebook post that the clinic had already given out Sputnik V "to more than 8,000 people". The overwhelming majoirity experienced mild to no side effects, he said. He slammed lawmakers, the Slovak State Institute for Drug Control (SUKL) and journalists for "demonising Sputnik ... in a stupid fight against Russia and Matovic". Had that not happened, "we could have inoculated half a million people with it, just like Hungary did," he said.
