Matolcsy: Forint crucial to Hungary's economic wellbeing

The forint has been crucial to Hungary's economic turnaround and management of the coronavirus crisis, Gyorgy Matolcsy, the governor of Hungary's central bank (NBH), said in an article published in the daily Magyar Nemzet. Notwithstanding Hungary's obligation to adopt the euro, the single currency should only be adopted solely on the basis of Hungary's national interests, Matolcsy said in the article published on Sunday.
