Matecna: SNS not to support Mercosur agreement

Agriculture Minister Gabriela Matecna said at the European Commission Representation in Slovakia on Thursday that SNS MPs will vote against the EU-Mercosur (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) free trade agreement both in the current parliament and the one that will be formed after the general election, TASR learnt from Lenka Samekova of the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministry's communications and marketing department. This is due to serious food-safety risks, veterinary and phytosanitary risks, logging in the Amazon forest to increase agricultural production and double standards for European farmers.
