June 2nd, 2021

Some 40 percent of Czech children between 11 and 15 sleep on workdays less than recommended by experts, according to a study conducted by the Palacky University in Olomouc, Central Moravia, presented in Prague today. The children who sleep too little may suffer from overweight and obesity and encounter psychical problems. On average, the children sleep about eight hours on workdays and some 90 minutes longer on weekends. The recommendations for children between six and 12 is nine to 12 hours of sleep a day and for teenagers eight to ten hours.
