Man sets himself on fire near House of Parliament in Warsaw

A 49-year-old man set himself on fire in front of a monument to the Home Army, near the House of Parliament building in Warsaw, police spokesman Robert Szumata told PAP on Tuesday. He said that policemen, along with guards from the parliament building and witnesses to the incident, extinguished the fire. "The conscious man was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Warsaw," he stated. The man did not have any letters or banners with him, and the motives for his actions remained unknown.
