The European Commission welcomes the news of Romania despatching medical teams to Slovakia to help the country in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, TASR learnt on Tuesday. Slovakia lodged a request for aid within the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, which prompted Romania to send a team of five doctors and nine nurses to help treat COVID-19 patients at emergency department units. In its Tuesday's report for the media, the European Commission announced that the EU is coordinating the effort.
