Legendary Czech Dakar Rally truck driver Karel Loprais dies

Czech rally raid driver Karel Loprais, the six-time winner of the Dakar Rally in the truck category, died last night at the age of 72 years, his family announced on Facebook today. Loprais took part in the Dakar Rally for the first time in 1986 and two years later, he won it. He scored the last triumph in this race in 2011. He always won the race behind the wheel of the Czech-made Tatra truck, and never drove another vehicle trademark in the legendary race.
