Kurds demonstrate in Prague against Turkish attack in Syria

October 14th, 2019

About 60 Czech Kurds and their supporters met outside the U.S. embassy in Prague today in protest against the Turkish military offensive in northern Syria, calling on Czech PM Andrej Babis and President Milos Zeman to do their utmost for Turkey's attack to be halted. Rashid Khalil, who heads the Czech Kurdish civic association and has organised the protest, explained why it took place outside the U.S. embassy. The USA has stabbed the Kurds in the back, the withdrawal of the U.S. troops from northern Syria is cowardly, he said.
