KSCM calls on govt to distance itself from visit to Taiwan

September 4th, 2020

The Communist Party (KSCM) that supports the Czech minority government on Friday called on Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek and the cabinet to clearly distance themselves from the visit of Senate head Milos Vystrcil to Taiwan in its executive committee resolution released to CTK. The KSCM broad leadership said Petricek should either declare the visit "null and void" or resign from his post. It labelled the visit "arbitrary, even ritual and pointless." Petricek told CTK that he can see no reason to react to the call. "I have repeatedly commented on the visit of Senate chairman, the government position has been consistent in the long term," he wrote.
