The Krakow-Balice International Airport in southern Poland handled a record-high 8,411,000 passengers last year, more by 1,641,000 than in 2018, the airport announced on Thursday. "We are glad we managed to achieve such good results but we are also aware of new challenges facing us," Krakow Airport CEO Radoslaw Wloszek said. Wloszek underlined that Krakow-Balice was the first regional airport in Poland to have handled over 8 million passengers a year. According to the airport, it serviced nearly 713,400 passengers in December, up by 28 percent year on year. Krakow Airport is the second largest in Poland in terms of the number of passengers. In its winter timetable, it offers over 130 regular connections.
