Krajniak: Slovakia may tighten border controls due to Indian virus variant

Monitoring on Slovak borders might be tightened up in connection with the Indian variant of the coronavirus, Labour Minister Milan Krajniak said before a meeting of the Central Crisis Management Team on Thursday. Krajniak expects tougher border measures to be among the proposals considered at the meeting. "I think that we should tighten border monitoring or adjust measures so that we'll know if the Indian variant of coronavirus has spread to Slovakia and can take measures," Krajniak said.
