Kosice commemorates 75th anniversary of liberation by Soviet troops

The people of Kosice on Sunday commemorated the 75th anniversary of the liberation of their city by the Red Army on Liberators Square. According to historian Henrich Hrehor of the Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice, Faculty of Arts, the liberation of Kosice was the first significant landmark for Slovakia and the former Czechoslovakia when it comes to the end of the second world war.
