Chief of Slovak diplomacy Ivan Korcok perceives the agreement between US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin on returning ambassadors to their posts in Washington and Moscow as an extremely important and positive moment of the summit held on Wednesday in Geneva. Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, Korcok praised the "very important" personal meeting between the leaders of the two states, the diplomatic ties of which have been "extremely strained" recently. He pointed out that the aim of the summit wasn't to resolve all points of friction but to make sure that the two parties "discuss things they don't agree on, which is the role of diplomacy after all and that's always better than sending each other messages of an escalating character".
