While science has shown that it is able to defeat the pandemic, politics is losing to battle as it has failed to make vaccines available to the poor, Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok said on Monday, after his return form the 76th UN General Assembly in New York. Korcok cited UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as saying that the "the world is on the brink [of collapse] due to an accumulation of the truly fundamental challenges we face - from climate change to the ongoing pandemic and many unresolved and lingering conflicts around the world." On the sidelines of the assembly, Korcok met his counterparts from Russia, Georgia, the Maldives, Qatar and Turkey, along with the head of Palestinian diplomacy.
