Korcok calls for EU-accession talks with Albania and North Macedonia

Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok called for an urgent start to EU-accession talks with Albania and North Macedonia at the Prespa Forum Dialogue conference held in Ohrid, North Macedonia, on Thursday, the ministry's communications department told TASR on Friday. "Russia's aggression in Ukraine shows that Russia's model of relations with its neighbours stands and falls on coercion, military force and breaches of agreements. The European one, on the contrary, is based on the free will of citizens to become part of one community and on respecting agreed rules. These prospects must be given to Western Balkan countries that really are taking the prescribed reform steps," said Korcok in a panel devoted to the war in Ukraine and its impact on the Western Balkans region.
