Austria is preparing for the already-announced introduction of stricter testing requirements that will apply to cross-border commuters as well, Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry State Secretary Martin Klus (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) has said on social media, adding that the commuters will probably be obliged to present a new negative test result once a week. According to Klus, the date as of which the new measure regarding cross-border commuters will take effect has not yet been set. "We assume it could be as of [next] Monday. The new directive is still under preparation and should be adopted within the coming days," he said.
