Former president Vaclav Klaus said today the media articles, saying the Czechoslovak Finance Ministry sent a loan worth about 1.3 billion dollars to the Soviet Union when he headed the ministry shortly after the 1989 fall of the communist regime, were a heap of lies and an attack on him. Klaus said the article that the daily Hospodarske noviny (HN) published today was a prepared attack against him that might be aimed to prevent his possible return to politics.
