Judge re-allocations in Poland threaten judicial independence - CJEU

The European Court of Justice (CJEU) has said in response to a query from Poland's Supreme Court, that transferring a judge without his or her consent to another court can breach the principle of judicial independence. The CJEU said the same applied to moving a judge between two divisions of the same court.
