Russian President Vladimir Putin should be the first name on the list of sanctions imposed on Russia over its aggressive action against Ukraine, European Commission Vice President Vera Jourova told Wednesday's edition of daily Hospodarske noviny (HN). "Vladimir Putin should be the first one on the list," she said. The absence of Putin on the EU's black list is rather an expression of weakness than of diplomatic skills, Jourova told HN. On Tuesday, the EU countries unanimously agreed on imposing sanctions against Russia because it violated the sovereignty of Ukraine. EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell said more than 300 members of the lower house of the Russian parliament who proposed to recognise the independence of the separatist territories in eastern Ukraine will be added to the sanction list.
