Poland's foreign ministry has said Israel's position on a proposed amendment to a Polish law limiting the ability of claimants to seek restitution for property they lost during the war remains "unchanged" despite meetings with Israeli officials. On Monday morning, Tal Ben-Ari Yaalon, the charge d'affaires at Israel's embassy in Warsaw, was summoned to the Polish foreign ministry following a heated reaction from the Israeli government to the legislation. On Friday, the Israeli embassy in Warsaw condemned it as "immoral" and warned it would seriously affect relations between the two countries.
