The Czech Interior Ministry wants to add two new reasons for denying international protection, if a very serious crime is committed and if national security is threatened, to the asylum law, Pavla Novotna, the director of the Interior Ministry asylum and migration policy department, told CTK today. The ministry is planning the toughening of asylum conditions within the amendment to the asylum law. The people who will not be granted refugee status for these reasons, but cannot return home over persecution and danger in their own country, will be able to use the "institute of sufferance".
