The interest in Waldorf schools has been declining compared to other alternative schools in the Czech Republic in the past few years, Pavel Kraemer, director of the Institute in Support of Innovative Education, has said in an interview with CTK. Though the number of private and alternative schools has been rising in the country due to the parents' dissatisfaction with education in regular state schools, the number of Waldorf schools has not increased so much, he added. The current trends are rather "free schools" where children alone decide what to do there or schools combining various educational methods, he said.
