Independents around Pellegrini propose one-off heating allowance for elderly

Head of the extra-parliamentary Voice-SD party Peter Pellegrini said on Monday that he and the MPs centred around him will file a motion to the upcoming parliamentary sessions for a one-off compensation allowance for the elderly to be paid following the heating season. The allowance should range between 100 and 300 euros depending on the amount of pension the individual receives. Pellegrini said wants the measure to be paid out in the spring to help the elderly cope with hikes in energy charges and the worsening economic situation in the country.
