Independent MPs to submit proposal for one-off allowance for pensioners

Independent MPs centred around ex-premier Peter Pellegrini who operate within the extra-parliamentary Voice-SD party will submit a proposal to pay a one-off compensatory allowance for pensioners at the next parliamentary session. The allowance should range between 50 and 300 euros for people receiving the lowest pensions. Those drawing pensions equalling twice the average pension in Slovakia would get an allowance amounting to 50 euros. "The allowance would help the elderly to overcome the increased expenditures that they will start to feel due to higher energy and food prices in the spring," said Pellegrini.
