Independence of Polish judiciary below EU average - Eurobarometer

July 13th, 2020

Only thirty-four percent of participants in a Eurobarometer research perceive the Polish judiciary as independent. However, a further 55 percent said Polish courts are not independent, according to Eurobarometer's report published on Friday. This placed Poland in fourth place from the end in the EU. Only Italians, Slovaks and Croatians have a worse opinion about the functioning of their judiciary.
