Over the past decade, Slovakia has slowed down quite significantly in catching up with the most advanced EU countries, according to the latest analysis by the Financial Policy Institute (IFP). "While Slovakia moved 23 percentage points closer to the European average between 2000 and 2010, it's moved only 8 to 10 percent from 2010 until now. Without adopting structural reforms, the pace of economic catching-up is at risk of continuing to decline," the analysts said.
