Border crossings between Hungary and Slovakia opened at 8am on Friday free of all restrictions, Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjen and Slovak PM Igor Matovic noted at a press conference at Vamosszabadi, in north-western Hungary. This was possible thanks to decisions made by the two countries to take "firm, responsible, and timely" measures in response to the novel coronavirus epidemic, Semjen said, noting that Hungary had signed similar agreements with Austria and the Czech Republic on reopening crossing points.
