Hungary opposition party proposes halving hospital beds reserved for Covid-19 patients

The opposition Democratic Coalition has proposed that 50 percent of hospital beds kept in reserve for possible high numbers of coronavirus patients should be reintegrated in the hospitals' regular services. Imre Laszlo, DK's health expert, said that the government had vacated those beds "without any reason" just two weeks ago. "When they are talking about the epidemic's having reached its peak and have started lifting restrictions in the provinces, those 36,000 beds are left empty," he said.
