Hungary is among the most effective European Union countries in protecting consumers by screening dangerous products, a Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) official said on Wednesday. Last year, the Hungarian consumer protection authorities reported 171 dangerous products to the EU's non-food dangerous products system (RAPEX), Nikoletta Keszthelyi, deputy state secretary for consumer protection, told a press conference. Hungary is second only to Germany in filtering out such products, she said, noting that the European Commission published the relevant RAPEX data on Tuesday.
